Since 2008, Liceo Marco Foscarini has participated in the International Student Science Conference (ISSC). ISSCs are events where students present research projects developed during the school year and participate in various scientific and cultural activities.
The project, initially promoted by four schools (The Hutchins School from Tasmania, Australia; Nankai High School from China; St. Paul’s Co-educational College from Hong Kong; and Stella Matutina Girls’ High School from Taiwan), has over the years seen the participation of schools from various countries, such as The Doon School from Dehradun, India, and The PLC from Sydney. In 2011, Foscarini organized the seventh edition and joined the network of schools; it subsequently hosted the conference in 2018.
In 2027, Convitto Nazionale Marco Foscarini will again host the ISSC, the twentieth edition of this prestigious event, which will focus on biodiversity protection and will involve international schools as well as local institutions.
